Welcome to New Vision Videography Infocus News, an innovative online media platform produced by individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. NVV Infocus News is an initiative of New Vision Photography Program Incorporated, based in Washington, DC. We provide prevocational training and supported employment services for careers in mass communications and media.
NVV Infocus News is operated as any television news studio in the country, but our focus is primarily on relevant stories for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities along with their advocates. Many of the stories we seek to report do not receive much media attention from a local or national perspective. Our vision is to change this situation through NVV Infocus News, by consistently showcasing the inspiring capabilities of individuals who accomplish their goals despite their disabilities.
NVV Infocus News currently employs a crew of two talent and six technical crew members, all individuals with developmental disabilities who are trained and supervised by professional video production instructors.
NVV Infocus News is funded by the Medicaid Waiver Program through the District of Columbia's Department on Disability Services.
